Fissler Crispy Steelux Stainless Steel Frying Pan Review

The Fissler Crispy Steelux pan was our favourite metal pan to cook with during our tests. It gave us great cooking results time and time again.

The most notable visible feature of this pan is the griddled novogrill surface which gave this it the best release out of all the stainless pans in our test. It heated perfectly evenly, and it was especially good for preparing meats that were seared and crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. The pan is well-balanced with a rivetless steel handle.

You do need to be a bit careful with this pan because it heats so efficiently that we noticed it getting pretty hot when left unattended on the stove, and the metal handle does get warm if you cook for a longer period of time. We noticed the overheating problem even more on induction.

Cleaning the pan was mostly simple, but it does tend to accumulate grime around the edges which take a bit more effort if you want the pan to look shiny and new. We think that a bit of discolouration is the sign of a well-used pan and a mark of pride.

Pros

  • Amazingly even heating
  • Great release for stainless
  • Crisp and delicious results
  • Well-balanced with comfortable handle
  • Durable

Cons

  • Thin sides can get hot
  • Lots of surfaces to clean
  • Need to watch the temperature
  • Metal handle gets warm
  • Unsteady on induction

TestHut’s verdict

Overall, we think that the Fissler is a perfect pan for anyone ready to enter the arena of stainless steel cooking, or if you are looking for a replacement for your worn out pan. The Fissler is a well-made pan that is durable and will last for a long time.
